What are my chances at Duke ED or USC?

Hi, I am currently a junior white female from the midwest interested in computer science and possibly business. I am wondering what my chances are at Duke and USC?

ACT: 33C (35 M,34 E, 34 S, 28 R), 34 superscore
SAT: 1450 (660E/R, 790Math)
GPA: 3.86UW/4.57W, weighted is out of a 5point scale
Ranking: Top 10%
AP Test Scores: Micro(5) Macro(5) Comp Sci A(4). Currently taking APUSH and AP Calc BC and Advance Data Structures
Senior Year Schedule: Multivariable, ap stats, ap physics C, sr English, honors accounting

Extracurriculars(Vague to protect identity):
Outside of school I am involved in a teenage girls entrepreneurship club focused on social impact projects. At school, I am involved in Girls Coding Club, Mathletes, Key Club, Deca, Lacrosse (Freshman/Sophomore), Spanish Honors Society, and a few others. I do not have any major leadership positions, but have been involved in each of the clubs for at least 2 years.

Summer: I went to overnight camp for 7 years, but also worked at a nearby concert venue. This summer I am doing a community service trip in Washington D.C and working again the rest of the summer.

I know my reading ACT is significantly lower than the rest of my act and I was wondering if that could be a potential issue even though I am more interested in math and science fields? In addition, I have taken one of the most challenging schedules that is offered at my school. However, people rarely get into Duke. Please let me know what you think my chances are and what else I should do to help myself and prepare for the upcoming year. Thanks so much!

You are a competitive applicant. Your stats and ECs are good. Write great essays, be sure to include why you are interested in STEM, and you could get accepted to either of these schools

I’m just a junior so don’t take my advice word for word, but I think your SAT score should be at least 1500 as a lot of Duke applicants (and their freshman profile) seem to indicate that majority of admitted have that score or higher. Everything else I don’t have the expertise to comment on but I personally think they are decent.

You’ve picked a couple of great schools there. It’s fantastic to read about so many high achievement girls interested in CS on CC. Best wishes and let everyone know where you end up!
