any advice?
thanks in advance

You NEED your ACT up to have a good chance. Right now I’d say 20-30%.

Your chances are very low to nil with your current ACT of 21. A 21 ACT converts to a 980-1010 out of 1600 SAT. Duke has a 25th-75th percentile average for admitted students of 1340-1550 SAT. (Or 30-34 ACT).

IF you got your ACT to 28 or 29, they may consider you with the URM status, however even so, they will be looking for top 10 % of class.

Your chances are pretty low for now. You should raise your GPA to at least a 3.6 uw, and get at least a 2000 on the SATs or 28 on the ACTs. Your extra curriculums are great. Work really really hard, and it’ll definately increase your chances of getting accepted!

chance back please: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1090817-what-my-chances-gettin-into-penn-state-u-pitt.html

You really need to raise the UW GPA and your SAT/ACT. Right now you have a 25-40% chance. Good luck :)

Chance me?

Sorry, unless you skyrocket your ACT, you don’t have a chance. I got rejected from Duke ED this year with a 32 ACT and 3.9 UW GPA. These people are saying 20-30% chance, that’s ridiculous. my advice is to either work on the ACT or use the ED advantage somewhere else. But if you truly love Duke, go for it. You never know what could happen with the super selective schools.

Sorry, but you will not be accepted. Your ACT is not even close to the lower 25th percentile of Duke students.

Are you sure you didn’t mean a 31 ACT?

You are so right. my mistake, I meant 31.

Hi, I’m 15 years old and am currently a junior. I have a 3.5 gpa and took the ACT for practice/just to see how it’d go with no prep in December and got a 25 (( I am retaking it again and hope to get a 28-30 hopefully! I am Junior Class President, heavily involved in Student Council, Part of NHS-going to be an officer next year, actively involved in Key Club and voleenteer countless hours. I am also an active voleenteer in my church. I was selected for leadership in my schools conference. I have taken challenging classes my whole high school career and took 2 AP Classes this year and am taken 3 next year. I also job shadow my dentist. I want to be a dentist or an oral surgeon and am applying for UIC this June early admission. Do you think I can get in with my current stats? I am praying so because it is the only school that tuition is reasonable and yet offers a strong medical field. I have also been on varsity tennis for 3 years and varsity track for 3 years. I hope to appear well rounded. Thank you for reading this and taking the time to answer, I appreciate it very much as I come from a middle-class family and do not have many options for college due to my low gpa and only a couple schools offer pre-dental in Illinois and their tuition is well out of my range. Thanks once again!*
