I have applied to all of these schools (Georgia Tech, Michigan, UNC-Chapel Hill, Illinois and Notre Dame). I figure I am borderline at most of the schools, but would like some input.

My GPA is 3.65 W and 3.4 UW (I know, it's low)

My act is a 30 with a 31 in math and science

I have taken 15 AP and honors classes in high school, getting a C in only one of them

My EC's: I started a tutoring club at my high school. I played baseball freshman and sophomore year and played tennis junior and senior year. I have had a job every summer since sophomore year as a lifeguard and currently work 5 days a week at a chinese restaurant. I was a member of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) freshman and sophomore year. I have roughly 50-60 Community service hours at various places.

I also have very good letters of rec for every school, and an alumni letter of rec to Notre dame.

I don't know if it matters, but I am applying to the engineering college at Mich, Ga Tech and Illinois and to the business college at Notre Dame and UNC.
Please reply!!!!! Thanks a ton!!

Considering most of the schools you listed are public schools, it would be helpful to know which state you live in as in-state vs. out-of-state can play a big role.

I’ll just give you some chances on the assumption that all are OOS for you:

UMich- mid reach
GA Tech- their engineering programs are very competitive so I’d say low-mid reach, especially if you are OOS
Illinois- high match
Notre Dame- mid-high reach
UNC- if OOS, high reach considering they have a set quota on how many OOS students they can allow, which makes it very difficult to get into; lowish reach if in-state

Yes I am from Colorado so out of state for all. What are the chances that I get denied by all of these schools? I have a couple fall backs but these are my top choices.

Well, there’s definitely a chance they all reject you. Schools don’t talk to one another so the decisions are independent from one another. But I’d say you have a decent chance of one picking you up, most likely Ga-Tech or Illinois.

Ya I figured. Thanks!

Also, if a college says they will superscore your act, does that mean they definitely will? And if they do superscore, do their mean act scores reflect superscored act’s or raw composite act’s?
