Apologies about the grammar
Sorry to say but no. Look up stats for this school and others you are applying to. Michigan for lsa is something like 3.8 unweighted and 32/33 Act and OOS can be harder to get into then instate.

Could I push my SAT score high enough to get a chance?
Michigan unweighted GPA. That needs to come up. Taking all AP classes senior year and getting all “A” a would be difficult to do. Raising your score to a 33/34 equivilant would help. So getting your Sat to 1500 and higher would be a difficult feat but not impossible but still might not get you into Michigan but would help with other schools. Raise everything, do your best, if you want to apply to a reach school then go for it. Look at Naviance for your school or the like and see who got in the last 3 years and with what stats. Talk to your counselor and see what they say. Out of state to Michigan is very tough when you have the correct stats.
What is your school’s record for getting students into UMich? UMich seems to like a strong record of HS yield.
Monitoring the UMich threads here on CC, admittedly the stats of students represented here on CC skew very high, but not many of them had an UW GPA’s below 3.7. Just keep working hard and make sure you get them your app on or before 11/01/19.
Best of luck!
Dude, predicting college admissions is a crapshoot. My son had a higher GPA and SAT scores and was waitlisted, yet some on here have posted saying they’re accepted into LSA with stats similar to yours. Also depends on the course of study at Michigan and how much interest you show in your writing and inquiries. Visit the campus (and stop by admissions) if you can.
Thanks for the helpful responses! Up until recently I’ve only been thinking about going to a state school like OSU, but figured that I should have some type of higher goal.
OSU is a great state school. Nothing wrong with it besides being Michigan’s number one rival…
Raising your scores /stats will help you with many other schools also.
I think OP meant Oregon State since he’s from Portland, not Ohio State ; )
Yeah I meant Oregon State haha
Oops my bad as they say… But as stated then your fine also.
I’ll try to get my SAT score as high as I can, many of the questions I got wrong we’re due to lack of time.
Can you get extra time? Like do you have a 504 or IEP? If not then practice the tests over and over to get the speed down. My son had this issue with the act. If you can afford a tutor it can be helpful with tests strategies and pinpoint stuff that can help.
Good Luck.
No, I just need to practice practice practice
Many people do better on the ACT than the SAT. My oldest son did great on the PSAT/SAT. He never took the ACT. My other two sons did well on the SAT, but not as well as they hoped. They both scored 33s (composite) on the ACT, first sitting. More students submit the ACT to Michigan than submit the SAT. And if you do better on the ACT, you don’t need to submit the SAT at all.
Good luck!
Act tends to be a faster test then the Sat but I would still do a practice tests. There wssts big difference between the two with my kids.
