Intended Major: Political Science

In terms of political science, Harvard would be the best one to get into. You have insane test scores and a superior academic record. However, your EC’s don’t really let your personality shine through. Did you accomplish something besides leadership positions within your school? How good are you at your instrument?
Overall, all the schools you listed are reaches for EVERYONE. They’ll definitely put your application in a “good” pile, but who knows whether you’ll get in. In my humble high school opinion, it’s teetering on the balance.
Would you mind chancing me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1093513-upenn-mit-columbia-harvard-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

this kid sounds like me… if i’d done my homework. hahahah. you’ve got pretty decent chances at all, just make sure to make your personality evident in your essays. good luck, my man

I would say your chances are not very good, you have to remember HYPS receives 40,000 apps of students just like you, you don’t stand out you have no “hook”. Any-whoo best of luck though.

Your academics and test scores are amazing, but as said before, your EC’s seem lacking. I think you have a great chance at Cornell. Columbia will be also be a decent chance. The HYP will always be a reach for almost everyone.

Harvard - No
Yale -No
Princeton - No
Columbia - Maybe
Cornell - Maybe

I can’t say YES to any of those ivies because it is almost impossible for someone to chance an ivy. Ivies are unpredictable but based on the information you provided I believe you don’t have much to keep the admission’s department interested in you.

In other words, your stats are great but there’s nothing that differs you from the probably 20,000 other caucasian males applying to each school.

Of course, I’m sure you already know this, the opportunities for you at other leading universities are endless! You are a great student and you have shown great intellect as seen by your stats.

Best of luck!

Just realized that I forgot to include my volunteering on the Obama campaign and on the election campaign of a local congressional candidate - I wasn’t sure where to put it on there and ended up not including it at all.

I think that you stand as good a chance as any other competitive candidate. You have great grades, test scores, a challenging curriculum, lots of volunteer hours and ECS and volunteering on election campaigns which I think will show your dedication to your intended major. Obviously there’s no way to definitely say for any Ivy school but I think you have a good shot.

Would you mind chancing me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1094141-what-my-chances-ivies-some-top-lacs.html</a></p>

Thank you kindly.
Would very much like more input. :)
