What are my chances at Pepperdine?

weighted GPA- 3.96
UW GPA-3.75

SAT I math-610
writing-580
reading-620
ACT-28

SAT II us history-740
biology-700

AP euro-3
AP US-4
AP bio-4
i'm taking calculus and AP gov right now

i've done community service at a veterans hospital for almost 4 years now
I'm on cross country and varsity track.

I also live in California and i'm asian. so do i even have a chance there?

does anyone have any ideas?

I don't know much about Pepperdine, but your creds are kind of similar to mine (work on that SAT score though) and I've been told its a good match for me. I wouldn't say its a terrible reach for you, but do you know if many asians apply there? I know that lately, being asian has hurt some peoples' chances at top tier schools because collectively, you tend to be more competitive than other minorities (I hope Im being pc by saying this). Good luck I'd certainly apply there if you really want to go!

I know Pepperdine... don't go to Pepperdine, you pay 40k for an ocean view...

Old thread, but Im bored!

what is so wrong with pepperdine. if you can get financial aid, doesn't that help a bit? You don't have to pay 40k, right?

Well, maybe not... but lets be frank

My brother goes there, and after spending the night there, the extent of the fun was three guys sitting around playing cards. It is a dry campus, which even if you dont drink, makes a campus less intersting.

It is very hilly...

The plus sides, its beautiful there. You are close to malibu and LA... you see celebritys at the local grocery store (Adam Sandler plays basketball there sometimes), and the ladies are attractive

Education is good I guess, nothing to special, almost top 50

Well, are there any similar schools where there is "more" fun and where it costs less?

I'm applying to Pepperdine so if there are more people who know about this school...do post...

all I can say is what I wrote above... good school though, my b seems to enjoy it. I personally think he would have been happier elsewhere (He got into U of illinois engineering, but chose pepperdine).
