I am a ninth grader indian boy and i have already published my own 250+ page book that sells all over the country and plan to write two to three more before applying. In india there is very very less scope for ecs compared to america which i hope to tell the interviewers but yet i am strong in the literary field. My articles have featured in the countries top newpapers and the nations top three newspapers have written articles of praise on me. I attend the countries most prestigious school where i have founded its magazine and represent the library and the literature department in the school council. My essay made me one of the sixty out of 30k applicants selected for a prestigious journalism programme. I have done tons of social service including raising money to feed and educate 100 streetside children for a year by my self and raising money to bring electricity to a rural drought stricken village and plan to volenteer at an elephant orphanage in kenya. I am in the top half of the class but in no way a great student. Will the fact that i am a recognised author at such a young age in such an unencouraging country make me stand out as an applicant.

Princeton, first and foremost, wants top academics. Any viable international applicant MUST be among the topmost scholars.

If i do well in my SAT then will my high school grades matter.
Ps_ i am an american citizen living in india

Yes, they will. Your SAT will not make up for poor high school grades.

Even perfect SAT’s do gain you admission. They only gain you consideration.

If you don’t consider yourself a great student, you probably don’t want to come here. It’s a rough ride academically if you’re not prepared.

Also, you’re a 9th grader? I don’t think it’s a good idea to focus on any particular school this early in the game – shoo! Focus on improving your academics, sure, but don’t set your sights on any particular school; it’s way too early for you.

Not to worry; OP is not focusing on any particular school, he has posted the same post in a half dozen places.

Yep: all Ivies.
