hi, i am a junior with a 4.1 weighted GPA, 1440 SAT on the new one, and i have a long list of volunteering, internships including one at johns hopkins hospital, and a long list of helping community members. what are my chances? i know maryland accepts basically anyone with a 4.03 GPA and a 1320 SAT or higher. Do i have a good chance?
I also have 6 AP classes
I don’t think anyone can tell you if you can get in for sure or not. My daughter has 4.0 unweighted, 4.6 weighted, SAT score of 1410, long list of ECs including varsity sports…, and I still not 100 % sure. We will know in a few days… Good luck!
I got into UMD Smith Business School and the Scholar’s program w/ 3.79 UW and 4.42W, 310 SSL volunteer hours, Eagle Scout w/ some other ECs. I think you’ll get in
You’re numbers will certainly keep you in serious contention for acceptance. However, Maryland is by no means a school that guarantees admission with a certain gpa/sat. It is now an elite public University that is getting more competitive every year. You will need to impress the admissions committee with some interesting extracurriculars/personal qualities. That being said good luck. My friend was rejected by UMD from oos so she now goes to UNC. She was bummed. The opportunity to go there would be a dream for many people.
It would be really cool if you got in. I know people who had straight A’s in high school with SAT’s that broke 2000 that were either waitlisted/denied. Academically it’s one of the best public Universities in the nation. The campus is really charming even though it’s super close to Washington D.C
