What are my chances for an Ivy and MIT?

I’m a grade 11 international student. I got 91% on my freshman year with A’s in (Math- Physics- Biology- Chemistry) and A+ in Philosophy and 96.8% on grade 9. I’m preparing to take the ACT. I’m passionate about computer science and electronics and I was really obsessed about online learning since grade 4, so I started my first online course for web design & development in grade 4 and continued. For my extracurriculars:

-I have my own computer vision research project working on it with a professor.

-I placed first in computer science category in ISEF local fair and was nominated to the ISEF national fair. It was hard somehow to get involved in these kinds of extracurricular activities as I was the first one to go for a science fair in my school.

-I was the leader of the winning team of NXT robotics contest held in my city and we won by building a line-follower robot that could ace the other competitor robot. Actually, It was the first contest to be held in my city because we don’t have the culture of extracurricular activities here.

-I was nominated to the WRC (World Robotics Conference) for a robotics competition in 2014, but my parents had a different point of view, so they refused to let me go for it, and that’s why I’m just “nominated”.

-I was a technical member of IEEE & Microsoft student partnership clubs at my local university. It was an exception to be a part of these clubs as I was in grade 8 and I had to be a college student to get in, but after the interview, I got in!

-I got an invitation from the US embassy to be a presenter at the first Maker Fair in my country.

-I work as a freelancer volunteer translator at Coursera/ TED.

-I’m going to be one of a training group in a tutoring center.

-I gave some sessions about E-learning and MOOCs at my school. I moved the culture of self and online learning to my teachers and colleagues and school’s community.

How am I doing so far? What can I do to improve my application?

What can be the next steps to do for my plan to get into MIT and an Ivy? I really appreciate your efforts to help.
Thanks!

Score as high as you can on the ACT (34+) and keep up the good work, you have a shot.

Could financial need issue cause a problem for admission?

“We admit the most talented undergraduate students in the world through need-blind admissions”

@svlab112 not all Ivy’s are need blind for international students admissions, and need blind for admissions does not necessarily equal full need met by fin aid.

@tdy123 Agreed. To clarify. From the MIT website. “We admit the most talented undergraduate students in the world through need-blind admissions.”

Excuse me, I can’t find a way to indicate whether I’m talented or not.
How can I get an indicator for my application then?

You really can’t gauge talent against a scale or a rubric or anything. Talent isn’t something you can really measure, because it’s such a diverse thing. Looking at your post, I think you definitely would qualify as a ‘talented student’; not only are your academic stats good but you clearly display a passion for STEM subjects.

I would just continue putting effort and passion into whatever you do. Worry less about doing things for college admissions and worry more about doing what you are passionate about. More often than not, it’ll lead you down the right path.

Do you need money to attend college? How much can you afford?

I’m not sure right now, but we have some financial issues here in my country for USD because of currency float. Definitely, It would be hard to afford most of the tuition!

I wish I do better than now. I’m just obsessed about admission like any international student. What do yoy think I have to do for the next year plan?

Do you have any additions?
