What are my chances for any SUNY's? Should I go through community college for 2 years?

I'm a Junior becoming a Senior. Mostly interested in going through comp sci route.
Current GPA: UW: 79.4 (School didn't give me Weighted Average). I'm guessing this is around a 2.9?
SAT: 1840 Superscore (700 Math, 650 Reading, 490 Writing). Planning to take it one more time during october to try to get a 2000 (third time)
Language:
EC's: Chess Club, TCG Club, Volunteering at Prospect Park

I know I slacked off during high school and it will bite me in the ass. Should I ditch getting into a 4 year college and just go to a community college for 2 years instead and transfer?

I would transfer. Your high school gpa is lacking. Your SAT makes you strong for transfer but you’re going to get less moneys.

Some of the SUNYs are easier to get into than others. If one of the less selective ones (Albany, Fredonia, Old Westbury, etc.) interests you, then I think you should definitely apply. While your GPA is lower than the mid-50% for the SUNYs, your combined math and reading score is above the mid-50% for them. If you think you’re leaving your slacker attitude behind in high school, I would say it’s definitely worth applying to some SUNYs.

If I managed to raise my SAT score to above 2000 and raise my GPA senior year to around 3.1, do you think I would have any chance of making it to the more selective SUNY’s like Buffalo?

It’s unlikely that you will raise your GPA to 3.1 in one semester. You don’t need a 2000 SAT to get into any SUNY really. All you can really do is submit your application early. If I’m not mistaken, they have rolling admissions. Just try to apply to the less selective ones. Avoid Geneseo and Binghamton

I think you would have a better shot at more selective SUNYs by raising your SAT and GPA. Your GPA is really what’s hurting you right now. I’m not sure how high you can pull it up in a single semester, but really work to raise it as much as possible!
