good chance, good variety and yet clearly skill in your area of interest.

keep it up, remember for columbia you need to take 2 sat II subject tests. beyond that a few other things to consider - your teacher rec should be strong and someone that knows you well, start thinking about who, and the essays on the piece really need to fill out a picture of you as someone interesting, mature and with a unique perspective that is not common for other students your age.

Thanks admissionsgeek! I’m already working on my essay and I know exactly who I’m going to ask for a recommendation.

Nikeofsamothrace, I’m most definitely working on my standardized testing. I actually just finished studying a little bit of the SAT about ten minutes ago. As for the architecture internship, the one on the original post (Hnedak Bobo) is current. I’m an intern there right now.

And stalkermama, I know I should have already taken it. It was silly of me to not have done it yet. BUT I will take it in October for sure and I’m confident about the scores I could make on them if they are anything like the AP tests that I’ve taken.

Thank you so much guys! You’re helping me more than you know.

The only thing that concerns me about your resume (besides leaving your SAT and SATIIs until after junior year) is that it looks like you switched schools midway through high school. Why did you switch? It’s probably a good idea to explain to colleges why you switched, since an unexplained switch could send up red flags.

I switched because millington wasn’t giving me the opportunities I needed to get into the kind of colleges I want. Millington’s selection of AP courses is slightly pitiful and people just don’t care as much there. I’m really happy with the switch, it was totally worth it. I went from the worst school in the county to the best school in the city. =]

Just make sure you note that in “extra information” and/or make sure that white station mentions that in their “school recommendation.” Many times, students will be “asked to leave” schools without being formally expelled, so unexplained transfers may raise red flags at some institutions. As long as you (and your current school) explain it, it shouldn’t be a problem though. I’m glad you’re now at an institution that can better prepare you both for college and the admissions process!
