What are my chances for Choate, Horace Mann, and Riverdale?

@ilovechoateeeee …did u get into HM?

waitlisted for both HM and Riv @harlemgirl121

Their loss. because u would be a winner for either. Keep your head held high!

@ilovechoateeeee I agree with @harlemgirl121 it is totally their loss from what I can tell from your stats you would be an incredible addition to any school (Boarding or Day). I really hope that Choate accepts you because you genuinely deserve an incredible school. If it gives you any piece of mind, I have heard that NY private schools are even harder to gain acceptance to than boarding schools, so do not let this get your hopes down.

@harlemgirl121 Thank you! I’m trying :smiley:
@CC4life That is so sweet!?:heart: Thank you so much!! Praying that I will receive good news on M9 :slight_smile: Good luck to you too!

@ilovechoateeeee,@CC4life yes that NY private school game is for REAL! I have friends that applied with similar stats to yours that got shut ALL THE WAY down! You seem more of a BS pick anyways! Good luck again!

why cant i find prep school decision videos on youtube? Only college i see.

Good luck to you too!! @harlemgirl121

@ilovechoateeeee My family is pulling hard for you!! If I were an AO, I would be glad to have you at my school!!

@harlemgirl121 I was looking for decision videos too! I literally can’t find any of them, let me know if you find any thing because I love watching college decisions and wish they had them for boarding school as well.

Some of the BS do decision videos including Exeter. My DD doesn’t attend there but I have to say the acceptance video almost brought me to tears.

@raddad2018 thank you so much! I hope the AOs at Choate think so too :smiley:

I’m not saying I have any authority (at all) on the admissions process, but I can tell you from being a former HM student myself and from having multiple siblings currently attending there that they are EXTREMELY focused on grades and test scores, so that would be an important part of your application.

@4everstressed Ohh, that’s probably why I was waitlisted. My stats weren’t the best?

I can second the opinion of @4everstressed my brother and sister both went to trinity from K-12th grade and several of our family friends who were crazy accomplished when it came to ECs and had 1 or 2 Bs/B+ would get rejected/waitlisted from HM and accepted at more selective schools. I also know of a faculty member who taught my brother at trinity whose wife worked at HM and their kid got waitlisted from HM and admissions literally told them a major factor was because of their sons SSAT score which was in the high 70s. Its not a great score, but IMO it definitely should not be something that would get a teacher’s kid waitlisted.

I sure hope you get in next year! If you’re not a favorable candidate, I’m probably gonna get my application thrown away. :3
