I'm currently a high school junior and things are a little rough, to say the least. While I go to just your everyday public high school, I am an International Baccalaureate diploma student. For those of you who don't know, it's the most rigorous academic course in high school. However, despite this amazing program, my GPA is abysmal. This current semester isn't over so I'm not sure on the exact GPA, but let's say it's much less than a 3.5. I am involved in lots of extracirriculars.

-I learned how to play the viola my freshman year of high school and I am currently in advanced orchestra.
-I played Junior Varsity softball for two years, and I am expected to be Varsity this year and next.
-I played club softball in a city league for two years.
-I will be playing flag football next year.
-I am in French club.
-As an African-American student, I would like to join my school's Black Student Union.
-As a part of the IB diploma requirements, I must volunteer. I've volunteered at a public library and I will volunteer in a local food bank.

It's hard for me to join more clubs because of my sports. I am interested in applying to Emerson College for the Writing, Literature and Publishing program and I was wondering the selectivity of the program.

Do I have a chance?
