What are my chances for JMU (James Madison University)?

<p>I am currently a junior in High School and I'm just extremely nervous I won't get into my top school, James Madison University.</p>

<p>My weighted GPA is about a 3.5... I know... Not the best :c
So far I have taken three AP classes and I'm planning on taking 2 more senior year.
AP World History: Score (3)
AP Language (To be tested) (expected grade:4)
AP US History (To be tested) (expected grade:4)
AP Statistics (Senior year)
AP Literature (Senior year)
Sat Scores (First test) Math: 590 Reading: 560: Writing: 570 (Planning on taking it again)
I am in my school's Spanish Honors Society, Math Honors Society, and planning to join more clubs; perhaps science or young republicans.
I've taken a lot of Honors classes throughout my school year, I am going to take Spanish 4 next year, and I've been in AVID for 3 years; a college prep class that is a national demonstration site for creating strong college students.
Freshman year I actively did sports all three seasons, sophomore and this year I was in a full-year round swim club, breaking school records and keeping states on my mind, I'm also a captain. (4 or 5 practices a week for two and a half hours each, with sometimes 4 am practices!)
So far I already have four letters of recommendations: two coming from perfect students from Virginia Tech and William & Mary, (Math & English teacher) My current AP Language teacher, whose recommendations have gotten an older student into John Hopkins! And My final letter from my AVID teacher, who was a double graduate from James Madison and is well known for bringing successful students to college.
My only family relations is my sister who was a double major in JMU.
I also volunteer at my INOVA hospital near my school.</p>

<p>Sorry if it's a lot but I really appreciate it if someone could help me out! I'm freaking out already! :(</p>

<p>If you are in Virginia, I think you are on track… obviously showing an upward trend in grades, especially your core classes will help, and the higher the SAT the better. Your ECs are ok. I think you need to focus on adults, not older kids, for the letters of recommendation. You should look at the naviance data on your school’s website if you have that. It lets you see what has happened with students from your high school in the past and is a helpful indicator.</p>

<p>I think you have a really good shot. being in state definitely helps. Also it looks like you’ve taken advantage of a challenging course load. Also your letter would look great for JMU.
Definitely play up your ECs and any leadership positions you have.
Finally, you may want to retake your SAT  other than that, you look good to go!</p>
