hey I have similar stats and I also applied to northeastern under the RD. my sat was a 1990 similar to your 28 when converted and my GPA is 4.93/5. My college advisor says I have a good chance for northeastern as she knows the admissions office staff personally. so I believe you have a good chance too. btw I’m international so I don’t know how that affects this
Your ACT is quite low, they normally look for 31 and higher. Your GPA definitely doesn’t make you stand out or be special. Killer essay definitely will help you as they factor that into a lot of it as well as recommendations. You seem to be very diverse EC wise which is good. There aren’t too many Hispanics at northeastern so that could be good as they do consider race. I’d say you have a moderately okay chance. You don’t stand out too much but you aren’t really bland. So I’d say you have a fair chance.
I applied to Northeastern under Early Action for CCIS and got deferred to Regular Decision; my highest SAT was a 1960. I do believe that my test score was the only weak spot in my application and I would say the same about yours… Make sure they get your mid-year grades and that they’re good, but I wouldn’t count on it if a 1960 can’t even get you in for Early Action.
@iKatt20s Your writing score is good but most colleges don’t look at it to much and normally like the amount of all 3 to be high. I don’t know what he was talking about. But no doubt it definitely won’t do anything but help you.
I think your extracurriculars and essays will make your application stand out. ACT and grades are a little low, but you have taken a rigorous coursework (context is key after all). I think you have a fair shot, especially since you go to a rigorous private school and you are first-generation. I wouldn’t be surprised if you got in, but it is still a reach (if that makes sense). Hope this helps, and good luck!
Looks ike you have a pretty decent chance with that being said Northeastern also deferred so many well qualified applicants during early action so in addition to the regular decision pool you’re going to be compared to some pretty good candidates from EA
