Hey even though im a junior(pakistani), im still very nervous n curious about getting into college.Rutgers especially(right near by)

i recently took the sats for the first time and did horrible, got an 1800/2400 :(
im DEFNTILY taking them in october and i know i will break 2000.
my gpa is average- 87.4
i am not in too many honors or ap classes though. Mostly regular(cp-college prep)... but junior year i was in Pre Calc H, Ap stats, and next year i am in all regulars except Ap Bio, AP Spanish, and Physics H.

-i did some volunteering last summer, and this summer im going to do loads of volunteering at a hospital
-I have done alot of community service work at a mosque(muslim "church") and have assitant teached every sunday for many years
-have good recommendations already
-have been selected to a couple of programs like Whoes Who top students, National youth leadership conf and medical conf.

Haha yeah, i know i'm probably the stupidist 1 here, but i really want to know if i have a chance to get into rutgers.

oh and my school is "kind of" smart..and im top 40%..or 232/580

I think you have good chances especially if you break 2k on your SATs. Taking those classes during your junior year was definitely helpful and with a high SAt score I really don't see you getting rejected.

Yeah, if you do 2,000 or better, you'll probably be accepted. Right now, it's a slight reach.

I'm guessing you are in-state, so you have a really good shot at getting in already. If you can raise those SAT you should look at some possible reaches.

Um yeah, don't listen to what most of those people are saying. You'll definitely get into Rutgers, it just depends on which campus you have your heart set on. An 1800 is actually a relatively good score on your SATs, i wouldn't worry about it. You have a pretty good chance even at the New Brunswick campus, it may be a slight reach. But you'll get into Rutgers. Don't worry at all. If you end up breaking 2000 on your SATS, you have a very good chance of getting a scholarship to Rutgers b/c they usually reward good SAT scores.

Now, while Pakistanis and Indians are ORMs, Muslims are not nearly as common at top universities. Try playing that to your advantage.

my sister got in with mid 1100s
2000 is almost definite
1800 is a match
less is reach

why in the world would u want to go to rutgers?????????????
