what are my chances for UCSD/UCD/UCB/UCLA/UCSB/UCI

is anyone familiar with University of the Pacific? it has an accelerated pharmacy and dentistry program...it's also in Stockton, California...

Check out this site:

<a href="http://career.berkeley.edu/Health/PharmApp.stm%5B/url%5D">http://career.berkeley.edu/Health/PharmApp.stm</a></p>

At the bottom you will see that the average student admitted to the UOP Pharmacy program had two years of college with an average 3.34 GPA and that UOP admitted one out of every six applicants. Notice also that the age of students there ranges from 19 years old to 50 years old.

I think it's unlikely that they will let you in directly from high school. You will probably need at least one year of college in order to even apply.

If you're #3 in your class you'll probably get ELC, so you'll be guaranteed in at Irvine and a couple others.

After relooking at the site above, I realize I am mistaken. They are letting in some high school students. Based upon yours statistics, you probably have a pretty good chance at UOP for Pharmacy, although as noted they only take 1 out of 6 and they are usually looking for college students.

Good luck to you.

thanks cal cruzer for wishing me good luck and for the information about UOP. azelma can u or somebody else explain ELC to me? i have heard of it and i know that it accepts the top 3%(?) of the graduating class of a school to automatically get into a UC. at least thats what i think? can anyone explain it to me? and tell me how to apply for it?

can anybody help me out here?

if you're elc then you are in the top 4% of your class, and get a nice boost when applying to uc's. only 60% of elc people who applied to berkeley got in, so it's not a guaranteed admission thing for all uc's, but so far i've gotten "guaranteed" letters from irvine, merced, and santa barbara, which means that riverside is probably 100% as well. if you get elc and you go to a competitive school (SAT average about 2000) then you should have a very good chance at berkeley assuming that you get a 2200.

you don't apply for elc - if your school participates then uc will calculate the top 4% of the school and send you letters.

oo thanx whoamg
i was wonderin if i shuld take a lot of AP's my senior year? i hav been told that its not worth it because colleges mainly look at the sophomore and junior years? what do you guys think i should do?
