I have a 3.8 GPA overall and had a 4.0 my junior year. My SAT is projected to be in the 1350 range. I go to a really small private school in DC where I am on almost a full scholarship. I do not take APs or honors because my school does not offer them, but I will be taking several advanced classes in my senior year. I do a lot of volunteering with my city. I am a peer tutor at my school and the leader of Model United Nations. I do three seasons of varsity sports (Soccer, Winter Track, and Spring Track) and have received an All-Conference award as well as a Coach’s Award. My intended major is Public Health on a pre-med track with a minor in French or maybe a different language. I am a senior and thinking of applying to either Tulane or Boston University ED in the fall. I’m pretty sure that UNC is way out of reach for me considering my test scores and the fact that I do not live in-state, but I have family who has gone there. I am wondering if I should even apply to UNC (let me know what you think). I really like Syracuse and UConn because of all the spirit and the atmosphere but I’m not sure how prestigious the schools are known to be and that sort of worries me. I like American and GW because I love DC and their programs for my intended major, track, and minor are really great. I know that I don’t really fit the criteria for UVA but I am still hopeful because I am in-state. I like U-Dub (University of Washington) a lot because of the location but I fear that because I am not in-state it will lessen my chances. I also will need a large amount of financial-aid or merit scholarships to be able to attend the schools. What do my chances look like for getting in/ getting scholarships? Thank You!
a 1350 on the SAT will not be enough for UNC, UVA, BU, and maybe Tulane. You should aim for around a 1400+ for Tulane and BU, 1450+ for UNC and UVA.
A 1350 makes BU a match.
