I’ll also be applying to WM and UVA this year! Are you applying in-state to any of the public ones? Obviously applying to UVA, WM, and UNCCH have much lower acceptance right for OOS. Your class rank, course rigor, and gpa are all in excellent shape. However, your scores are a tad on the low side for OOS. Your experience with Vaderbilt will no doubt help with your Vandy app. Maybe if Vandy is your top choice, go ED. I knew a girl who was on the lower end with her test scores but got in because of applying ED. Best of luck to you!

Thank you so much for the help! Best of luck to you in your apps as well!

If you are in state for WM and it is your clear first choice, apply ED there. Otherwise, apply ED at Vanderbilt. ED can help a borderline application.

WM and Vanderbilt both have reputations for putting more emphasis on test scores than on grades.

I don’t think the SAT 1900 will hurt you for any public schools; it is just a perfectly acceptable mid-range score that will not raise eyebrows. Your real advantage is being first in a class of almost 600. That will carry a LOT of weight with UVA.
