Hi! I’m Rugved from India and was hoping to ask you guys about my realistic chances of getting into an Ivy League (except Brown and Dartmouth which do not have a good comp. program)
My Stats are as follows:
SAT: Just gave my first attempt, expect around 1500.
SAT-2: Expect 700+ in Chemistry And Math-II
AP: 5 in the Principles of Computer Science AP( only 1)
GPA: (I’m currently in 11th) My GPA right now is 3.9/4.0, and I expect it to become 4.0 by the time I apply to colleges next year.
Teacher Recs: Amazing level Recs from my 2 fav teachers, and the vice principal has herself volunteered to write one for me especially.
Essays: I am a very good writer so I think I can pull off some very good essays.
Honors and Extracurricular(s) :
Awards and honors-
- 4th in the world in the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (PowerPoint 2016 Category) out of 5.2 Million students from over 52+ countries.
- National Champion(1st) in the Microsoft Office Specialist India Finals (out of 870,000 students nationwide) in the PowerPoint 2016 Category, also awarded a fully sponsored trip to Orlando, Florida for competing on behalf of India in the World Championship.
- Ranked 19th in the world in the Google Code-In International Championship out of millions of students from over 130+ countries.
- National Cyber Olympiad(2016-17) – National Rank 8th, State Rank 4th.
- National Cyber Olympiad(2017-18) – National Rank 7th, State Rank 3rd.

Extracurricular Activities:
- 500+ hours of involvement in the Graphics Design team, the Organizing Team and, the Technical Support team since 6th grade, and was a critical part in providing technical(software and hardware) support in ALL the school fests like Annual Day, Foundation Day, Sports Day, Monsoon Fest from the last 5 years.
- Was in the Student Council, and held the Position of School Cyber Vice Captain for the year 2018-19 and the position of School Cyber Captain for the year 2019-2020. The work included leading the technical support staff and students for the various events that kept happening around the school.
- Taught Computer Science(Python) to orphans and unprivileged children around the city for over 100+ hours through the LIONS International Club.
- Opened a YouTube channel to teach computer Basics to everyone, including Python, Unreal Engine, etc. and have invested over 1000+ hours in doing so.
- Made an App called BookDonate where the users who don’t need their old books can donate it to other users in the same location nearby and have over 1500+ downloads on it.
extras**- I’m going to apply to all ivy leagues with financial aid, and I’m obviously an international student.
My school is an internationally recognized institution, awarded the British Council award for three consecutive years.
