First off I'd like to thank anybody that comments. I really appreciate it. I go to a very competitive highschool, one of the best in NC. I am IN-STATE and am a junior right now.

The Classes I Have taken in highschool are ....

Spanish 2 (A)
Honors Algebra II (B)
Honors English (9th) (A)
Honors Biology (A)
Honors World History (A)
Physical Education/Health (A)
Computer Applications I (A)

11th Grade (with two months left in the year these grades are solid as long as i dont do something stupid)

-AP Biology (A)
-Honors Research Methods (Bio) (A)
-AP English (Language) (A)
-Honors English 11 (Don't Ask, our school sometimes makes questionable decisions) (A)

12th Grade (Going to Take)

My GPA at the end of junior year will be (as long as my grades dont drop) a 4.8(weighted) and a 3.85 unweighted. My school is very competitive people with high GPA's don't make it into the top 10% of the class (my friend with 4.6 is 75 and our valedictorian from last year had a gpa of 5.3). I'm probably gonna end up anywhere from 9-12%. I have 2030 SAT scores. Obviously i haven't taken any AP exams yet. Will I have a hard time with admissions just because of the competitiveness of my school.

My Extracurriculars/Awards

Science Bowl (president next year)
Science Olympiad (Varsity)
Track and Field (Varsity)
Quiz Bowl (president next year)
UNC Hospital Volunteer (Dont know if this helps)
National Honors Society
NC Governors School Nominee
Summer Ventures (Admission Pending, Made first cut)
Biology Research Project with published results
Summer Lab Internship (going to do this summer)

Where do you want to go?
Your Extracurriculars look pretty good, I would say. However, if you want to get higher, you probably should retake the SATs.

You’re into the other schools but JHU DUKE and UNC are a low reach. I don’t really understand how you’re gpa is calculated but u definately have the grades.
just boost your SAT and try taking tr ACT bc east coast colleges prefer that!
You’re ECs are good though but I wouldn’t really mention the nominee stuff- if u didn’t get it don’t mention it :)

thanks for chancing me:)
btw you might wanna try applying early to ur favorite school, it’ll help a lot.

You have solid ECs, grades are somewhat shaky for JHU and Duke and so are your SATs, but if you can bring up your SATs and get a solid senior GPA I’d say you have a pretty good shot at those schools, and you’re in at all the others.

On a side note, do you happen to go to that North Carolina school of math and science (or something like that, not sure of it’s name exactly)? My friend went there.

Nope, I don’t go to the North Carolina School of Science and Math. NCSSM is known as the brain drain at our school, as the top 5 during sophmore year usually end up there. Also to answer someone else … I am glad I am in-state for UNC, don’t think I could get in without it… haha

Your in all of them except two, take another sat, just to see if you could boost it up, which you probably will and that’ll definatly help. JHU, Duke: very good chance in my opinion, just a little higher sat and your in. EC’s are definatly solid and classes too. You’ll do fine (wish I had your SAT score haha) Good Luck!!

I was thinking about applying to Cal Berkeley, I was wondering if someone could help me find my UC GPA. Thank You in advance … all of the online resources confuse me…

Oh and i’ll chance back anyone that wants one
