What are my chances in getting into a UC with these stats?

I’ve just ended my sophomore year and am entering my junior year. So I would like to start thinking about college and universities. I plan to apply for UC Berkeley, USC, UCLA, and UCSD. Well at least those are the colleges I know for sure I want to apply for. I’m just wondering what my chances would be of getting admitted to these colleges with my current academic and extracurricular stats. Neither my family or I have any experience with applying in the US since both of them are from Asia. >< Thank you so much for any help or advice you can offer.

Possible Majors: Science Field, Business

Seeing as you’re only just going into junior year, it is a little early to determine your chances. UC’s take sophomore and junior year’s grades so without the junior grades, it’s quite hard to see your chances. However, looking at your current grades, if you continue on the same path, you should be fine!

Berkeley and UCLA have some interesting admissions and both are very competitive (over 80,000 people applied to UCLA last year) so I would say that USC/UCSD is a match and depending on how well you do your junior year, Berkeley and UCLA could be in your range too!

Also: Do you mind chancing me back? (: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1515277-safeties-matches-reaches-chance-me.html

Make sure you take the most challenging course load you can at your school, the UCs admit on a WEIGHTED GPA basis (so taking 5.0 classes helps tremendously). Keep the A’s through junior year, and study for the SAT (at least above a 1900, you want to be in the 2100-2200 range to feel comfortable). The UCs are stats based admission for the most part. Also, if your school has Naviance check the admit history, that can help to see your chances for the UCs. If the top 10% of your school regularly get into most of the UCs, you should be golden. Being asian does work against you, as the UCs practice affirmative action, so you have to work harder for that spot. It’s hard to chance you without SAT or junior year but I’ll try.

Berkley: High Match/Low Reach
UCSD: Match
UCLA: High Match/Low Reach

USC is a different story. Stats are still important, but you need ECs too. Still, if you stay on the same track it’s probably a high reach.

I would advise applying to some other less selective UCs as matches and safeties. What about UCD or UCSC? Also, add some non-state schools to the list for a chance at merit aid. Best of luck!

Berkeley: Aim for 32+/2150+
UCLA: Aim for 31+/2100+
USC: Aim for 32+/2150+
UCSD: Aim for 29+/2000+

Would UCI and UCD also be good options? Are there any other good non-state colleges in California? I’m not very familiar with the private colleges to be honest. For colleges, one of my priorities is that its in state (California) since I would prefer to be close to family.
