"What are my chances?" Nothing describes my question better

Hi,
I am living in Turkey and I am a 11th grade student. Last year, I came first with my project at national project competition (with a computer science project).

This year I have attended five international project competitions and I was chosen as a finalist for all of them. Before 9th grade, I have won over 20 national project competitions but I guess they are not counted.

My GPA will be something like 71 out of 100 at the end of this year. Currently I am an IB student (which is the hardest course I can get at my school).

My PSAT score was 1760 and I haven't studied for it at all. Since then, I have been studying for SAT for a while and I am much better now. I am going to take SAT reasoning at May and June, and TOEFL at May. At September or October, I will take SAT MAT1 MAT2 and Physics subject tests.

What do you think my chances are at Ivy league schools and MIT, Caltech, WPI, UC Berkeley, UCLA, U Michigan at the computer science or astrophysics majors.

By the way, does being an atheist make me an under represented minority? :D
Thanks.

-Bring your SAT to over a 2250.

-Is the 71/100 ‘excellent’, ‘good’, or ‘mediocre’ in your school? I.e. what is your ranking?

-Rock those essays, it’ll help you stand out.

-The numerous contests are a BIG plus.

-And no, atheist does not make your URM, unfortunately. ;)

I think I have some interesting ideas for essays and I will try my best at SATs.

Also, I am the co-founder of a gaming organization and server provider in my country. We have organized lots of online tournaments and LAN parties. I coded the Turkey’s only anti-cheating application and it is actively being used right now. I think this is a plus too.

Most of the schools you mentioned are uber competitive. So for the ivys, MIT, and Caltech, i’d say that your chances aren’t exactly great. The others will also be reaches. Although you say that you didn’t study for the PSATs, studying can only bring your score up so much and certain schools like MIT and Caltech (especially caltech) will want you to get perfect math sat scores.
For your gpa do you mean 71/100 like C- average or what? I can’t really evaluate that until i know what it means.
Your awards will definitely help you especially since they are focused on what you want to major in-these schools want someone who will stand out and those awards will certainly help you.
Get a high sat score (2200+) and your chances will jump for all of these schools.

Okay.

I reread your thread and think that you have amazing ECs and if you can bring the SAT score up you can Almost def make it at Caltech or somewhere. That is assuming that you go to a competitive school and the 71 GPA is top of the class (or near).

[/does being an atheist make me an under represented minority?]

Not a urm, just a . . .

Psalm 14:1 “The fool in his heart says ‘There is no God’”.

I am at the one of the most competitive schools at my country and I am in the only IB class which is focused on math and science, present in my school.

I recieved a mail and a package from WPI and it seems like a pretty good place to study computer science. What do you think about it? I think I have a great chance of getting accepted to WPI? How is it when compared to U Michigan?

Anyone have anything to say about this?
