Hi, I am a senior in high school and I am curious about my chances of getting accepted to a few schools. My first choice is Loyola Marymount University and my second choice is Santa Clara University.

I currently go to a private Jesuit institution in Nebraska. I have really been prompted, even inspired, to go the LMU because my dad along with his brothers attended for a bachelor’s degree and I simply fell in love with the university after I recently visited. I was hoping that I could possibly get some opinions on my admission chances.

I had crappy frosh grades, but I think that I have a decent upward trend in grades(our school uses a 4.0 grading system): 2.81, 2.91, 3.0, 3.26, 3.46, 3.57, >3.70 (this semester of senior year).
I have not taken very many honors classes but I will end up with 4 yrs of English, Math, science, and religious/moral courses. 2 yrs of foreign language, 3 social studies, and a ton of electives.

ACT w/writing: 24 (first time). I have taken some prep classes and I’m going to take it 2 more times.

EC’s: Retail job as an employee selling products to customers, ringing people up, and answering phone on behalf of the whole store. I have worked there since the summer before sophomore year and I work there almost full time in summer and part time during school year. Frosh football, cross country jr. and sr. year, science club freshman and sophomore year and various other community service.

I’m not applying for financial-aid and I don’t think I will get a scholarship because my grades are not that good. My brother currently attends LMU and he loves it.

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
