What are my chances of admission?

Major: Electrical Engineering
ACT: 31 English 32 Math 25 Reading 33 Sci 27 Writing 30 Composite
SAT: 560 CR 620 M 540 W
GPA: unweighted overall 3.54
weighted overall 3.62

ECs: During my 8 years in the Boy Scouts of America and Order of the Arrow, I've held far too many leadership positions to list here. I am an Eagle Scout as well as a Vigil Honor member and I am in the process of earning my Venturing Silver.
During High School I have been in numerous music groups such as Jazz band and Symphony Orchestra.

Essays: My application essays weren't as strong, but my supplemental essays impressed every one of the teachers I asked to edit them.

Ethnicity: Hispanic/Native American

Background: My parents divorced when I was about six years old. I have lived as a dependant with my grandparents for the past twelve years. In my essays I go into more detail about how I was required to keep myself motivated since I never had parental figures to follow. If I am accepted to UCI, I will be the first in my family to attend college.

Income: ~45,000

What do you guys think?

What’s your UC gpa? (10th/11th grade weighted GPA). If it’s a 3.62, then it’s a little on the low side. However, your ACT is pretty good. You’re also an URM which helps you out. I’d say you have a decent shot, above 50% for sure. Good luck, I hope you get in!

I keep seeing people reference URM…I thought UCs could no longer use your ethnicity as a factor in the deicsion making process for admission?
