I heard from user sentimentGX4 that someone in this forum is good at calculating admission chances. Could someone please help me calculate my chances of getting into UCSD?
Here are my information:

GPA: 3.59 unweighted, 3.75 weighted.
SAT I: 2020 (Reading 620, Math 700, Writing 700)
SAT II: Biology 620, History 600
AP test: AP US HISTORY 4, AP BIOLOGY 4.

I truly appreciate any kind of help and thanks in advance for your time & advices!!

You need about 7800 points to get into UCSD last year, so it will probably go up.
what is your UC gpa?
what you do is add a zero to your gpa, so if your uc gpa is 3.8 weighted then it is 3800.

SAT is like (SAT).66(SAT2’s) so yours is 2825 then look at all of the other stuff.

Your SAT I score is solid, but you need to improve your SAT II scores. Also, your GPA is below average. The average is 4.01. Your GPA is the most important factor in deciding whether or not you will get in. Make sure you have a lot of EC’s, leadership, and great personal statements. I hope this helped and good luck.

I was planning on retaking the SAT I in november… do you think I should retake the SAT IIs instead? I was hoping that my AP scores will prove my knowledge of the material but I guess since AP scores arent part of the calculation they don’t really do anything to improve my chances of admission right?

Yes this really did help! Thank you very much!!

I have scattered volunteer work at a school service club and piano for 12 years but no awards. However, I created a youth volunteer group at my local retirement community, and I thought this could be used to show my leadership. I also worked on this english learning community website as an internship over the summer, and gained working experience from that.

Regarding point cut-offs, my guess is that it will be closer to 7900 or 8000 this year. The class of '14 overenrolled by a lot, if i remember correctly.

so many good advices, wish I had this much as a high schooler. well, 2012 is only 2 years away, might as well give it a shot. Again, just raise that SAT.
