i have a 4.0 unweighted GPA i am ranked number 1 in my school which is ranked in the top 1000 schools. i am a valedictorian.. i am in National Honor Society and i have a 30 or above on my act taken 5 or more APs i will also be graduating with traditional honors...however i have no Extra curricular activities??? if its not possible to get accepted tell me where i could be accepted.

Whao, no ECs make it hard to get into a good school. Colleges like to see passion.

Are you sure you have no extracirrculars? Volunteering and job experience count as extracirrculars. Science research is also included in extracirrculars, as is playing an instrument at home. I remember someone saying he just explores nature with his friends on the weekends by hiking or biking and that should count. At my school, NHS has meetings and activities so it also counts as an extracirrcular.

i would say that without extra curricular activities it will be difficult but i suppose you have some shot at some schools but i dont know because your entire post is one really really long run on sentence i would hope that as a valedictorian you learned proper punctuation and grammar and all those silly things???

idk but it sounds like a troll???

well i do have like 40 hours of community service per year... and thats about it...just tell me where i can get accepted.. thanx

and btw don't worry about my sentence structure and stuff.. this is the internet i'm not writing an essay.

lol sfgiants, I was thinking as I read your post, "wth? His/her posts seemed more intelligent than this ..." xD

"don't worry about my sentence structure and stuff.. this is the internet i'm not writing an essay."

Thing is: you have to worry about "sentence structure and stuff" wherever you use language, whether in speech, in an essay, or in a forum like this. It's difficult to understand if the style is convoluted (e.g. without punctuation -- the support for written language). In addition, the style--syntax, words, punctuation, etc.--tells quite a bit about the writer. (They don't have you obey certain rules in essays for nothing.)

kyle: This thread, aptly titled "Misidentity????" takes the prize for most ridiculous thing I have ever read on this forum: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=187090

i bet im still a better writer than you..and why do you have to be so senile? i mean this site is supposed to be for helping others not for degrading others... any ways im still askin where i in the world i could be accepted..and what i would have to do to get into a top 5 engineering school... thanx for the help..

If you show no effort in your original post, you shouldn't expect any effort put into the replies. Just sayin'

Your question about where you can get accepted is so open-ended that you probably won't get many good answers.

apply to state school, like university of something. They like gpa and test scores more than anything else. Others are just stuff for them to break the tie. None of the state public schools are top 20 tho

...

so basically assuming your stats are correct, you're book smart, but you don't have much passion for anything else.

You have no EC's which tells adcoms that you're either studying all the time, or you just don't care enough about things outside of school (instruments, ect)

basically you have no hook, that we can tell so far, and in top schools, hooks are what make or break an applicant. You can bet that at least half of the students applying to the top schools in the country have stats like yours or better, and on top of that, they do things outside of school

also your snotty arrogant impression doesn't help anyone here from giving you a straight answer.

yea, it's internet. People can really misjudge your tone just by reading "words"

alright whatever.. im sorry about that..lets forget about that

say I'm a junior now..what can i do from now till i graduate to be accepted into a top school????? i know i wont be one of those people following one thing throughout high school.. but any ideas for what i should do... to help my case.. thanks for the help appreciate it

UIUC is a top 5 engineering school (but not top 20 overall) - you can get in there.

U Michigan is arguably top 20 school (not per USNews) - their engineering is not top 5 though.

JHU, CMU will not care as much about ECs.

Try to get your ACT into 33 and up range and you can get almost anywhere - ECs or not.

thanx..any one else?????

can anyone else provide some insight?

join clubs now, put down random things you've done. apply anyways, you have the scores. apply to big schools where numbers count more. "senile"? lol

bububububuuuuummmmmpppppp
