what are my chances of getting a marine option, NROTC scholarship?

Hi, I was wondering what my chances are of getting a four year NROTC scholarship with the Marine option and what I can do to become more competative. This is something I've wanted for as long as I can remember!

I am a sophomore right now so I have not take the ACT but am projected to score in the mid twenties. I don't know about the SAT.

My cumulative gpa is a 3.8 (4.0 scale) I am in almost all honors and AP classes with an increasingly rigorous schedule.

I will be a four year, two sport athlete with varsity letters in both football and baseball. Also, there is the posibility of being a captain senior year for football.
I will also be in marching/concert band until junior year.

Starting next year, I will be involved in FBLA, link crew, and hopefully NHS.

In the community I volunteered at a special recreation organization for three years until I got a job there where I am currently employed. In addition I volunteer at a local pet shelter on weekends and umpire youth baseball during the spring.

I think that is about it. I was just wondering what my chances are for this scholarship. HELP PLEASE!!!

Pretty solid resume, although no one can predict the needs of the marine corp in two years so anything I may say is more than likely to change. A few years ago a 3.5 would have been a definitely shoe in, now not so much. It’s still not as competitive in the marine corp as the navy so that’ll help you. Make sure you have a solid sat/act score, get leadership positions, and maintain that gpa! Marine options are not required to take calc or physics like navy options are so if math is not your strongest subject don’t go AP crazy and screw up your gpa. I’m currently in navy ROTC, let me know if you have any more questions.
