What are my chances of getting into a selective university?

I am an average B student and I was wondering the possibilities of me getting into a selective university. All the schools that I am interested in are extremely competitive. I’m a junior and I plan on improving my grades drastically (for my winter and spring term) and my SAT scores. I’m very involved in extracurricular activities: Tennis, Student Action Leaders, Judiciary Committee, Research programs at MIT/Harvard etc, but I don’t believe that I’m up to par with the rest of the students who are applying to these schools. If I work hard to improve my grades and continue to do all the activities that I’m currently in, would I be a good candidate for any selective school?

bynoed, you need to be more specific about your qualifications. Post your GPAs, Standardized Tests, ECs (dont just list them, mention your level of achievement too) and also which selective school are you talking about...

I'm not entirely positive about my GPA. I'll find out when I get back from vacation and I'll post it. It's probably around a 3.4. I haven't taken my SATs yet I'm planning on doing that late spring/ early summer. I haven't taken all Honors either. I took all honors in 9th grade. All honors but History 10th grade, All honors but Spanish 11th. I plan on taking all honors next year. I'll most likely be taking AP Chem and Bio outside of school...if time permits. In terms of ECs I've done:

JV tennis 9th
Varsity Tennis 10th, 11th
Student Action Leaders 10th,11th
Judiciary Committee 9th,10th,11th
Community Service (Not sure how many hours...I'll find out)
City Lab (Research program at my school) 9th, 10th
Peer Leaders Program
Science and Engineering Club
Two Research programs at MIT/Harvard
Heliconian (School's Literary Magazine)
Two plays at my school (Stage Manager, Head of Lighting were my positions)
I went to China to learn about culture last summer
I'm going on a community service trip to Costa Rica this summer

In terms of Selective schools I'm really interested in Brown and Wesleyan... and I know these are reach schools for me. I was wondering what specifically can I do to better my chances of being considered an applicant?
