My gpa is 3.49
GPA of 3.49 by itself would make Ivys and other top schools as far reaches. But the GPA is only one parameter among many that will be reviewed by the admissions committee. Most schools take a holistic approach, so if you have a strong hook, such as being a recruited athlete, etc, and your other scores are far better, then you’ll have a much better chance. But if your board scores, as well as your ECs and essays are all very “average” then your chances will not look good.
I am only in my junior year of high school. What kind of grades should I be getting to get my gpa up to a 3.6 and higher?
Umm, A’s? (should be obvious)
Hopefully you know by now that a high GPA alone is not enough to stand out among the thousands of applicants to the Ivy League schools each year.
