What are my chances of getting into Cornell University?

Hello,

I was wondering what my chances are of getting into Cornell University (either College of Arts and Sciences or CALS). I am a Junior by the way and I haven’t taken the ACT yet.

3.8 GPA
4.2 Weighted GPA

Advanced Classes Taken or Taking:

  1. Founding member of school STEM institute (on the Board of Directors) -- I am expecting to become the President of the program by senior year

  3. Director of STEM Institute outreach (youtube channel)
  4. Led lectures at educational conventions on STEM education in high schools
  5. Worked with companies to produce educational games (through the STEM Institute)

Work Experience:

  1. Volunteer at UCLA Health

  3. MOU partnerships with companies through STEM institute

Get 33+ on the ACT or 1450+ on the SAT, apply ED, and I think you have REALLY high chances.

@barackhussein Is the rest of my application competitive?

Yes. Make sure you keep your grades high junior year, keep up with your activities, and take rigorous classes senior year. Like I said, ED + Legacy makes you a lock. Also CALS is much much easier to get into than A&S, but you can decide which one you want later.

Your ECs are really really impressive. Agree w/ barakhussein. You will need high test scores, but apply ED, Cornell is huge on legacy ED applicants. Good luck!

Does your school offer APs? Could you have taken some as a junior?
