What are my chances of getting into Harvard?

I just finished my junior year, and I’m about to be a sophomore. However, I have a pretty bad guidance counselor who is obsessed with making me and other students go to state schools (which for my family income, is really expensive). I was wondering if any of you could chance me for Harvard (Or Cornell)?

ACT - 34 (36 English, 33 everything else, 8 essay)
SAT - 2110 (I took this in Sept. 10th grade), but I’m not going to submit that (unless required)
SAT II - 800 Math II, 760 US History
PSAT - Commended Scholar (I think - I got a 205)

Rank: 2-4 out of 650

AP: I wasn’t aware of the AP Program because of my great guidance counselor, until 11th grade, and then he wouldn’t let me take alot, so all I took was environmental sci, Physics I, human geography (self-study) and APUSH. Next year, I;ll be taking Biology, Physics II, Self-Study Economics (both), US Gov, and Calculus AB. So 10 total. My school offers around 25.

I’ve gotten 97+ in all of my junior and sophomore classes, except a 90 on AP Physics I, and Regents (for NY’ers, I’ve gotten 97+ on them all, except 88 on Physics)
GPA is at least a 98 unweighted, due to some crappy 9th grade grades (91 Eng H, 92 Geometry H, 95 French H)

Extra-Cir. -
President of Science Olympiad (11,12) Treasurer (10), Won 1st place in Regional Envirothon, Participation in Envirothon States, Medalled in 3 Science Olympiad events relating to environmental science Regionals
Member of DECA (10, 11, 12) - 1st Place in Principles of Finance (10) and Business Finance (11) Regionals
Fundraising Manager of Astronomy Association (9), Co-Founder of Astronomy Night in my high school (This club got disbanded for budget reasons, should I include that?)
Member of community service organizations (NHS, Key Club, Interact)
Volunteered at beach cleanups, and at a hospital over the summer
Summer Program - Globalization at LIU Post

Other Information -
Male, white
Low income (for Harvard at least - $38,000, both parents and me) - which made me unable to participate in many states events

Also, what would anybody recommend writing the essays about? I have a few topics to choose from, me being diabetic, me travelling the country and visiting 48 states, and my participation in the AP Environmental class and the Envirothon and beach cleanups and how it impacted me.

Potential Major - Economics/Math & Environmental Science/Policy at Harvard, Economics/Environmental Engineering at Cornell

Welcome to College Confidential!

You’re new here, so possibly you haven’t seen this thread. It’s written by an MIT Admissions Director, but holds true for Harvard, as well: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/massachusetts-institute-technology/939227-reminder-no-one-not-even-me-can-give-you-an-accurate-chance-at-mit-p1.html.

You sound like a wonderful candidate, as are the vast majority of students who will ultimately be rejected. With more academically qualified applicants than they have room for in their freshman class, Harvard uses a student’s essays, teacher recommendations, guidance counselor reports and interview reports to help them select individual’s who will make a difference on their campus. As you haven’t posted those items – nor can you – no one here can say what your chances are. If you haven’t already, please read this thread stickied to the top of the Harvard Forum: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/1420290-chance-threads-please-read-before-posting-one-p1.html
