I am a current junior taking 5 AP classes and 2 honors, I have taken 3 AP classes, 9 honors classes, and 5 regular classes. My current unweighted GPA including all classes is 3.529, and my current unweighted GPA including only core classes is 3.384. I am planning on getting al A’s this year and I am also taking the SAT and ACT this year. If I do get all A’s this year my GPA would be a 3.667. What are my chances of getting admitted into NYU? If my chances are not good, what can I do to make them better?
Come back when you have test scores. No one can tell you without them.
I would say definitely get all A’s is the first step. If you get the GPA up then you would fall into about the middle third of freshmen. Then aim for a 33/1450+ on the ACT or SAT to counter a lower GPA. That also would put you in the top 25% there. Normally I would say go ED if you can but according to the College Board website the RD round has a slightly better acceptance rate. 29% ED 34% RD. Really weird so idk what to suggest with that.
thanks
Hey I’m entering my senior year in high school this september. And overall gpa is only a 3.2 but my sat score is a 1410 out of 1600 and I have taken honors and ap classes. Done tons of extracurriculars and I am treasurer of my school and president of a club. I took 3 sat subject tests and got a 750 on all three. What are my chances of getting into NYU?
If you plan on getting all A’s you might want to consider not taking 5 AP’s in your junior year.
