Hi, I'm a bit new to this site and the forums here, and I was wondering, what are the chances of me getting into Steinhardt School. I'm currently a Junior in High School in the 2nd Semester. I'm planning on majoring in Music Teacher Education. My GPA isn't the best. This is the list of my GPA in all my years so far. Freshman (S1, S2) - (3.7, 3.8). Sophmore (S1, S2) - (3.333, 3.7). Junior (S1, S2) - (3.2, so far in the 2nd Semester it's 3.67). As you can see by these results, my GPA has unfortunately been deteriorating. But, I do go to a school where I do consider it to be a pretty tough school being the 23rd best school in California and 179th in the nation. My SAT score was 1930. However, I've heard that NYU really does care more about how unique the student is rather than his/her grades. I've been accepted into the Southern California Vocal Association Honors Program (SCVA) and the American Choral Directors Association Honors Program (ACDA). Prior to being accepted to the program where I had to audition, I barely had any vocal training at all besides having 1 month of beginner school choir training and singing in the shower. Personally, I consider this a pretty big feat as over 4,000 people from all over California auditioned and only less than 300 were accepted. Also is it true that I'd maybe get a better chance of getting into Steinhardt since it is 70% female and 30% male (so yes, I am a male). And also since NYU is probably most know for their business programs, does that mean if there were 2 identical versions of me, but Me #1 wants to go into business and Me #2 wants to go into music, would Me #2 have a higher chance of getting accepted? I know I typed a lot but if anyone can give me a thorough and well explained answer, I'd really appreciate it. And please ignore any grammar, spelling, weird wording or whatever, I did type this at 1 in the morning. Thank you!
