What are my chances of getting into the FSU honors program?

GPA: Weighted: 4.1
Unwieghted: 3.4

i've been all honors/ap courses (4 ap) throughout high school.

i'm only a junior, but i want to know what my chances would be if i applied today.

im predicting a 1300-1350 on my SAT (based off of practice tests)

i have not started prepping for the ACT yet, but i have been told by many people that i would be better suited for the ACT because i am a quick test-taker and my forte is math.

i live in south florida.

Extracurriculars: Varsity CREW freshman year, Varsity Football sophomore year, Varsity Volleyball sophomore year, Varsity Soccer Junior year, expecting Varsity Volleyball again this year (Junior), president of my advisory since for 2 years, secretary of Green Team (an environmental protection club at my school), around 50-60 service hours so far, i have held a job at a construction site for two summer's in a row, charity work in Latin America over the summer, National Honors Society, Science National Honors Society, History National Honors Society, i tutor for the school

On the two AP tests i have taken so far i got 4's (World History AP & Psychology AP) and i'm expecting a 5 on Human Geography AP this year and a 3-4 on American History AP.

My father went to Florida State and is still influential in donating money and is recognized at the school.

I can get letters of recommendation from the founder of Keiser University and Nova-Southeastern University (family friends) as well as a teacher i have had many years who is on the board of administration at Dartmouth.

My high school is a top private school in Florida and i am told that colleges take that into consideration and boost the GPA a little.

I just want to know my chances of getting into the FSU honors program and other types of schools that fit my description.

THANKS!!!!

I think based on your GPA and EC’s you would have more than an excellent chance of getting accepted into FSU let alone the Honor’s program. I agree with whom ever told you that taking the ACT might better suit you because I found that I like it WAY better than the SAT. But then again it truly depends on you and your test taking strategies and which one you prefer. The best advice i can give you is to go ahead in early spring and take both test and determine which one you like the best. Continue striving for excellence in all you do and dont give up (Junior year is the hardest). You can do it. GOOD LUCK! :)

You get a point for being a legacy and you have a good chance of being admitted. Honors is a question - your best bet would be to avoid senioritis and improve your GPA in rigorous courses.

I would suggest:

Make an appointment to personally visit FSU Admissions and present your hs transcript and SAT/ACT scores, including the PSAT.

Take your parents, they will want to see FSU and connect with the FSU Alumni Association. This is also a good time to re-up your season football tickets.

Good luck!

i actually just got my psat scores back today and i got a 1270, but that was before i studied for critical reading and writing, so im expecting at least a 50 point boost.

and parent2noles, i am planning to interview with admissions as well.

i was just wondering, what are some other schools that fit my standards? they can’t be up north or out west and i don’t like small schools.

thanks!!
