I am petitioning honors and I wondering what your thoughts are on my acceptance into the program

I have a 3.92 FSU gpa which will go up with my fall senior year grades, I earned straight A's with 4 AP courses, 1 honors and 1 regular. I have or will have upon graduation 27 academic courses completed. I have a 28 act score and an 1880 sat. I am not in top 10% but Im in top 17% of 731 students at a highly competitive high school. I also sent a recommendation.

I was also accepted into FSU nursing. Dont know if that will help my chances any with the honors acceptance. I have a 109 priority number and if I do get accepted to honors what dorm should be my first choice. Please any suggestions.

If it helps, I was accepted with a 4.1 GPA, a 28 ACT (definitely didn’t get in with my SAT), class rank is 5/187, and this year I am taking 5 AP classes and 1 honors.

We have pretty similar stats, if this helps you at all.

you meet three of the four requirements so you have a chance. for example i don’t have a 3.9 (i have a 3.6) but i meet the other three.

“Successful applicants generally meet at least three of the following four requirements: 3.9 or higher FSU-calculated high school GPA; a qualifying test score of either 1890 total on the SAT (including Critical Reading, Math, and Writing) or 28 composite on the ACT; a strong senior schedule academically; and class rank in the top ten percent of their high school graduating class. Meeting these requirements alone does not guarantee admission.”

Actually, the criteria for admittance outright is different than an offer. If you call there and ask, its higher for actually offer without petition. So you might have met all four but that is for petition not for outright offer. I believe it was 4.2 fsu gpa, 29 or 30 act and at least 18 core classes.

So petition…and good luck just dont take my spot…lol.

I’d honestly rather go to UF, though I loved FSU when I visited. It’s too far away for me. I was just making the point that meeting all of the criteria doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to get in. But good luck to all, FSU is a great school! :)

I got in with similar stats to yourself, except I was in the top 10% of my class. I’d say you have a decent chance, I petitioned and got in Fall 2010.
