What are my chances of getting into the University of Texas plan ii?

I am an Indian male who lives in Houston, Texas. I am in the class of 2018.

My Stats:

I am most likely top 7%. My school has a different weighted gpa scale. The highest being a 6.5714 and I have a GPA of 6.4857. By the end of my senior year I will have completed 12 AP classes.

My composite ACT score is a 33.
English: 31
Math: 35
Reading: 31
Science: 33

SAT:
1420 Composite
English and Reading: 650
Math: 770

Extracurricular Activities:
Cross country and track all four years. (varsity since sophomore year in cross country)
Had a job of teaching basketball. (junior and senior year)
On committee to help organize a tournament to raise money for cancer. (junior and senior)
Mu alpha theta (math club) junior and senior year.
Interned at a rehab facility at hospital (freshman - senior)

You seem to be an average applicant for Plan II. Plan II weighs the application essays very heavily in their evaluation of an applicant, so your essays will need to be exceptional. Also, they prefer candidates who have an interest in both the liberal arts and sciences, so you need to demonstrate that you have a broad range of interests. You also need to show some creativity, innovation, thoughtfulness, or unique qualities that give that wow factor as they read your essays and resume. Good luck!

Because Plan II is heavily focused on liberal arts, you will most likely need to raise your reading/writing score on the SAT to strengthen your app (if you choose to send your SAT score.) You ACT score seems strong though, I think you’re well off on the standardized testing! :slight_smile: You will also need to be sure you essays are very strong, and be sure to display yourself as a well-rounded student capable of handling a rigorous curriculum.
