Hi, I just submitted my boarding school application for 9th grade to Phillips Exeter Academy, The Hotchkiss School, The Loomis Chaffee School, and The Middlesex School. I have no family members that have applied before nor do I have an advisor, so I am curious about my chances of getting into any of these schools; however, I am most curious about Exeter. Below I will describe my application in the hopes that someone will be able to help me out!
Standardized Testing:
I took the ISEE and my percentiles were 99, 99, 97, and 94.
Grades and Transcript:
I go to a difficult private school, and for past grades transcripts I only had one B+ and the rest were between 90 and 98. This year, I have only had one 90 and the rest between 94 and 100.
Extra-Curriculars
Robotics; 2 years; Team Captain
Community Service; 5 years; President of Service Organization(School)
Math Team; 2 years
Model UN; 3 years; 4 awards
I have more that are less important that are not extremely relevant.
Recommendations
While I don’t know the content of my recommendation exactly, I have very close personal relations ships with my English Teacher (also service club sponsor), Math Teacher (also Math Team instructor), Robotics Instructor (also Science Teacher), and Counselor (long-time family friend). From what they have told me, it seems that their recommendations are very good.
Essay
I can’t say much, but I am very confident that they are well-written and unique. I’m not sure if I can judge myself accurately, so who knows?
Interviews
Once again, I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I think my interviews went extremely well. According to my mom who did the parent interview, the interviews told her that they would write a good report or whatnot.
Other
I come from Memphis, Tennessee, which is under-represented at most of these boarding schools
Thank you to anyone who replies, and if you need more information that is no problem. I am so grateful for your taking your time to help me.
