What are my chances of getting into University of Oregon? I applied on Dec. 15, just over a month before the deadline. I live in the state and go to a private Catholic High School.
3.247 unweighted GPA
27 ACT
4 on AP English Exam
I took AP English Junior year and got mostly As
My essay is very solid
This is a tough one. In previous years you would have gotten in comfortably. But this year appears to be a historically competitive applicant pool. It really could go either way at this point. Best of luck!
It’s true, they have received an incredibly high amount of applicants this year and will be quite selective. Your GPA is alright but less than their average, and it seems the chances are about 50/50.
This year is iffy man…
This is the first year they have been so saturated with applicants that they are rejecting students with credentials much higher than that of what they usually accept. My ACT was 28, GPA 3.3 unweighted, some extra curriculars etc. I did not get admitted
Don’t worry though… I did get into several of my other top choices including Blue Mountain State and College of Industrial Innovation in southern Nevada!
My mom works at the admissions office and they just reached their cap for undergraduate students. Now, they are waitlisting all other applicants. I’m sure there is a lot of other good schools you applied to. Good luck!
So does that mean if I haven’t gotten i response, I Was not admitted?
If I am still under holistic applicant review is it likely that I will be waitlisted? Do you have any tips on what I should do to improve my chance of admission now?? Now I’m so stressed its my top choice
@michaelzaio99 when and how were you notified of that decision?
@quincypeng888 wait but their regular decision deadline was the 15th… how could they have already reached their cap? Wouldn’t that mean basically all regular decision applicants would be waitlisted or denied? I’m confused
This turned out to all be my friends messing with me trying to freak me out…none of this is true, anybody that reads this don’t worry
Have you gotten a response?
@michaelzaio99 I am glad to hear you have some alternatives, but also very surprised you did not get into UO - your stats look very solid, especially your ACT score shows you are really bright.
does university of oregon look at your unweighted GPA from grades 9-11 or 10-11?
