I am currently a senior in high school and I am an all service academy applicant. However, my first choice is USMA (West Point). I understand that there is no real way to accurately calculate my chances, so I am just looking for people's input.

Academics: My class rank is 2 out of 141, and my GPA is a 4.0 (unweighted). I took one college course over the summer and I am currently taking 4 college courses and 2 honors classes (I hope that this will help me reach #1 in my class). My SAT scores are 600-math, 550-critical reading, 530-writing (I understand that these are fairly low, but I have retaken it and I am just waiting on my scores to come in).

Athletics: I have two basketball varsity letters and one soccer varsity letter. Currently, I participate in Jiu Jitsu. I have a fairly major Jiu Jitsu tournament this weekend and I hope to place (I am not sure whether or not this will help).

Extracurricular/Leadership: Boys State Delegate, Boys State Governor, Boys Nation Delegate, Student Council Treasurer (10th grade), and Civil Air Patrol Member (11th grade-present).

Volunteer Service: Kung Fu teachers assistant at a local elementary school (30 hours). Volunteer staff on 2010 US Senate campaign (300+ hours).

Additional things that may help: A retired COL has sent in a letter of recommendation for me (letters of recommendation are not required beyond the SOEs). Also, my dad graduated from USMA in 1989

My application is almost finished. I am currently taking care of everything for medical, I will be taking the CFA on October 31, and my transcripts have been sent but not received. After these few items are completed my file will be done (minus the nomination). The nomination deadlines for my state are December 1st for the senatorial nomination, December 15th for the Congressional nomination, and January 31st for the Vice Presidential nomination. I will be sending in my applications for these at the beginning of November.

What do you think my chances are? Also, is there anything you would suggest I do to increase my chances (other than retaking the SAT and ACT).

Any form of informed advice is welcomed!

Thank you very much.
