what are my chances of gettting into Cornell?

<p>I'm white and don't have any relatives there
Grades/GPA: 3.6 unweighted, 4.4 weighted on a 5 point scale (my grades senior year have been very good, mostly A's in all AP classes, I don't know how that affects GPA). MY school doesn't do class rank
Tests: SAT I: 800 Critical Reading, 800 Writing, 750 Math
SAT II: 790 Math II, 680 Chemistry, ?? Literature
ECs: 3 years of varsity soccer, 2 years as a school newspaper reporter, member of Jewish Student Union for 3 years, National Merit Scholar, Gold Medalist on National Spanish Exam, took the Math Olympiad, a job at a local hospital filing papers, and volunteer work coaching soccer and basketball.</p>

<p>I don't know how much this affects things, but I also go to one of the best public high schools in Massachusetts.</p>

<p>hmm nice SAT scores, somewhat shaky GPA (even with a lot of APs), okay SAT II's and nice, balanced ECs (r u getting recruited for soccer?)</p>

<p>of course, your chance can vary depending on wut college you're applying to within cornell, but i think it'll be a reach (partly just because it's an ivy)</p>

<p>Well, I'll be honest, I think Cornell is definitely a reach. You absolutely have the scores and are just as academically qualified, if not more so, than the average applicant. I think your weak point is your ECs. You have some good ones, but nothing that really distinguishes you, and you're a little short on leadership, too. But if you do a good job of expressing your desire to go there, have strong recs, and write a well-written essay, you definitely have a chance. Best of luck!</p>
