What are my chances of transferring into UC Berkeley Environmental Economics Letters and Sciences?

I’m currently going to a community college in California. I want to transfer in 2019 as a junior. What would my chances of transferring to UC Berkeley Environmental Economics be? Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.78 ( If I get all As in Fall, I will have a 3.83 when I send my transcripts with my transfer application)
Race: Asian
Gender: Female
Major: Environmental economics and policy

High school:
GPA: 3.66
Was on the student honor roll for one year
Volunteered in China as an English teacher
Was in the school newspaper (front page)
2 APs

Accomplishments/ Extracurriculars: I was born in China and adopted when I was 10 years old; I’ve been working (part-time) in a sushi restaurant while being a full-time student; part of the scholars program as well as the Phi Theta Kappa honor society (active member first year and gold member second year); I will be volunteering in Borneo, Indonesia for six months, which is why it is taking me 3 years to finish community college; I’ve been active on campus with the sustainability club, trying to make our campus more environmentally friendly.

As you guys can see, I kind of messed up in one of the semesters, I got a W and a D. But I retook one of the and got an A and I’m retaking the other one this winter. I’m hoping I get an A in the course. Will that semester hurt my chances of getting admitted? I feel that my strongest extracurricular is going to Indonesia to volunteer. I’m planning to take accounting 2, calculus 2 and my science with a lab (scholars) next fall. What do you think my chances are?

UC’s do not consider your HS grades, test scores, EC’s etc… They will look at what you have accomplished at your community college, if you have completed your course pre-req’s, college EC’s and your personal insight statements.

This may help gauge your chances but the 2017 data should be available this summer.

Do the transfer major admission stats have any correlation to freshman admission stats by major?

@celine12: No, the transfer admission stats do not correlate to Freshman admission stats, since transfers do not have a weighted GPA. Just realize that UCB is a highly competitive university so you need top stats (GPA) for a solid chance at an acceptance. Look at the UC Freshman profile and see the GPA range.

ah, i see. I was just curious about the acceptance rate of certain majors as a freshman applicant, because I’m quite certain that a cs major in LNS does not have the same acceptance rate as philosophy

@celine12: In the College of Letters and Sciences, they do not admit by major. A CS major still has to meet the GPA specific requirements along with the course pre-req’s to get into the CS program, so you can apply as a philosophy major and then switch to CS if you meet the requirements. There still will be a certain admission threshold you need to meet to get into UCB’s L&S regardless of major.
