Hey guys new member glad to be here.

I am currently at a community college in California and am looking to transfer as a junior to UC Berkeley for Fall 2015. My intended major is Environmental Economics and Policy in the College of Natural Resources. Here's my resume of sorts:

GPA: 3.67
IGETC?: done by spring
Major Prereq's?: done by spring
Ethnicity: Chinese-American
Sex: male

EC's:
1 third place and 2 time CA state champion in Envirothon (a state and international environmental science competition),

a lot of volunteer work on restoration projects like surveying invasive species with the Santa Monica Resource Conservation District, examining soil health with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, planting trees for urban forestry in City of Santa Monica and with Treepeople, and cleaning up the beach with Heal the Bay,

Red Cross Youth Executive Board President of West LA District (during high school)

volunteer for UNICEF raising money for various causes (in community college)

Model United Nations participant (in high school and community college)

I feel that given my volunteer work with the environment (which I still participate in) and my involvement in Envirothon (which I was team captain for; it was in high school) I have a lot of practical experience. Envirothon required that I go outside and actually look at and measure water quality, determine what kinds of soils are present, figure out tree height, identify animal skulls, and give a presentation to a panel of judges for a given current issue prompt (the judges were professionals from organizations like the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Nature Conservancy, and the state government). Also, during my last Model United Nations conference, I was in the United Nations Environmental Program committee where I debated resource allocation and renewable energy development (all a part of environmental policy). Thus, I feel that by giving presentations to the judges both in the state competition and the international one multiple times and by my experience in MUN, I have extensive knowledge in environmental policy. These are all things that I wrote in my UC personal statement.

I know my GPA is pretty low, but I've only finished 5 classes so far in community college (which then would be a 3.8) and I basically know what I'm going to get in the four in progress classes I'm taking this semester (which leads to my 3.67 GPA). I have a lot of AP credit, so the required 60 units is no problem.

I know that the Environmental Economics and Policy major is impacted, so how will this affect my chances? Also, if anyone happens to know or can link to statistics regarding the Environmental Economics and Policy major like average GPA of transfers to that major or admit rate for transfers to that major, that would be extremely helpful.

I appreciate any and all input. Thank you in advance!
