I am currently a freshman at a public university in Georgia. My High School GPA was not too stellar (2.91). However, I've since hit the books and currently have a 4.0 after one semester (I should have a 4.0 after my second semester). I received two 5s on my AP exams (US History and American Government) and a 3 (European History). My ACT score was a 24. My ECs in high school were slim too none. In college, I am apart of Residence Hall Association and Minority Advisement Program. In my second semester, I will probably join two other organizations on campus. I am a Chemistry and History/pre-med major. I am a black female. Do I have a chance of getting into Yale or is this a lost cause?

Successful transfers to Yale generally were competitive/successful applicants to schools like Yale when they were in HS. Unfortunately, I think your 24 ACT and GPA will knock you out of the running. Congrats on your current success however
