Hi I’ve applied to SDSU for fall 2015 and I was unfortunately denied a couple of days ago. I decided to go through the appeal process for the committee to overlook my application again. I have updated my ACT scores to the school (an 18) and I have a GPA of a 3.6 apart from that I am a full IB diploma candidate. What are the chances of the committee to overlook my appeal, would I have a better chance if I submit it within a week of my notification?
Your ACT score is still way below the average of 25. If that is all you can offer for an appeal, I really do not think it will help much. Your GPA is on target, but ACT is still an issue. You have to remember that they have far more qualified applicants than they have room for, so it definitely has to be something compelling to change their mind. I wish you good luck and I hope I am wrong.
I got in on appeal. You have to have “compelling information” of extenuating circumstances. Like, something important that is personal and they wouldn’t know just from your application, or maybe if you reported a 3.0 gpa but really had a 4.0.
How long did it take for the appeal committee to reply back to you?
I mailed my appeal and it was recorded in their system the second week of April, I found out via web portal (email the next morning) July 14th.
