What are my chances to get in if I get a 27 on the act?

I live in Georgia, but I’m not planning to go to a big shot college like UGA or Georgia tech since I know it’s all reach for me.
I have nine colleges that I plan to apply to, but they are all in state because mom doesn’t want to pay more for out of state colleges.

So here’s the list of them:

Georgia State
Georgia Southern
Kennesaw State
Georgia College and State
University of West Georgia

Considered:
Valdosta State
Georgia Gwinnett
Clark Atlanta
Georgia Southwestern

Both Clark Atlanta and Georgia Gwinnett are safe schools, but I really want to know if I had an overall say 3.10 gpa in core classes with a 27 on the act, would that give me a good shot at the somewhat selective schools like Georgia Southern.

Definitely.

The average GPA of incoming of Georgia Southern is only 3.27.

Your ACT is at the 75th percentile there, so if your overall GPA is over 3.00 (unweighted), you shouldn’t have any problem.

Have you looked into whether you are eligible for a Hope Scholarship? It looks like your ACT is high enough and you have to have a 3.00 GPA. Not sure, but you look close…

Oh, I didn’t realize that 27 on the ACT wasn’t already a done deal…a 23/24 ought to get you a decent shot at Georgia Southern if your GPA(uw) is around 3.00.
