Hey everybody, I hate when others do this on here but I'm a little worried now about my chances for Charleston

GPA: 3.3 on a very hard grading scale (i.e. 100-94=A,93-87=B)
New SAT: 1500 (converts down to about a 1050 on the old one)
Taking AP and Dual-Enrollment courses
AP score of 4 on US History exam
Plenty of extracurriculars including: Marching Band, Ensemble, Jazz Band
Trying to get into the Music School

Princetonreview.com's Couselor-o-Matic claims that Charleston is a safety school for me.
Do I have a slight chance?

Your stats sound pretty much like my daughters' were, SATs are slightly lower. She's a freshman in the Music School and loves it, she was in all of those music things (plus drum major of marching band) and many choirs and musical theater and is now a voice major. Are you in-state or out-of-state? For in-state the requirements are a bit more lenient than out-of-state, my daughter is out-of-state and was worried about her chances but she had no problem. She applied for Early Action and heard back about acceptance by Thanksgiving and made her decision to go there after auditioning in February--she just felt like she belonged there. Get your stuff in ASAP for Early Action, as you don't have to make a decision until the regular date of May 1, but getting the stuff in early gives you a better chance as it does for ALL schools that have rolling admissions.

thank you for your reply, I am out-of-state as well. I really would like to go down to Charleston for all the off-campus music opportunities, and your post helped reassure me. Thank you for your reply.
