What are my chances?

I will be applying to transfer to FSU Spring 2013 with my AA in Psychology. My GPA will be roughly 3.3-3.4, I will have met the General Psych/Stats/Bio requirements for admission into the Psych program at FSU. I am an in state student.

However, my biggest concern are the following statements;

Junior/Senior-Level Applicants
Have at least a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) on all college work attempted at the last institution.

-and-

Admission Requirements to Major Program of Studies:
A minimum GPA of 2.8 in all courses attempted.

At my current school I have received 2 C's during my first semester back; one in elements of nutrition, one in AP1 lab (though I got an A in lecture, and B+ in AP2 lab and lecture). Additionally, after graduating high school about 7 years ago I was a programming major, and in my first semester of college I had a dropped class and two F's. Would these things bar me from admission to FSU?

Well, I did a little digging and contacted Psychology UG Advising on FB to answer:
“Admission Requirements to Major Program of Studies:
A minimum GPA of 2.8 in all courses attempted.”

This is what they said:

“the Psychology major requires a C- or better in Biiology, Stats, General Psychology and an overall GPA 2.8. If the grades in your current courses will somehow hinder you from earning your AA you will need to be sure to contact the Office of Admissions.”

So I’m golden in that aspect… I’m still wondering about the other statement, hoping admissions emails me back soon. Not expecting it though as they’re slammed.

Hey, I was wondering if you got accepted. I’m looking to transfer there with a 3.32 gpa as a biology major with my AA. My gpa should go up though by the time I transfer.
