What are my Chances

Hi I am a freshman and I am starting to become extremely stressed.
This first semester of freshman year it turns out that I might have either 4-A’s and 3 B’s or 3 A’s and 4 B’s or 3 A’s, 2 B’s and one C+

The B’s in my class are completely explainable,
The first B I have is a religion grade-- I am still making a transition from a religiously diverse school (a school with multiple religions) to a completely Christian school - I am
still adjusting- the school before had no religion what so ever

The next B I have is in my physics class, I was doing a lab with a partner but he would never cooperate with me and do his work which dropped all of our grades.

The next B is in math- I am normally great at math because first quarter I received a A in the course, but the second quarter I received a solid B. My teacher wasn’t at class when we all took the test so it dropped all of our grades because we were not able to ask simple questions.

My Gpa right now is in the 3.8 to 3.85 range because underneath all of those semester grades is largely A’s- They are B’s because of averages between a B grade and an A grade-religion math science

Do I have a chance to bring it back up for the next 7 semesters and be considered as a great candidate for HYPS+ other Ivies- as in saying getting rid of the B’s on the transcript

I have a hook with me also

I would have better grades but I’m balancing out extra activities with Grades unlike most people I know who just get good grades and do nothing.

Hook: African Female, fluent in mandarin Russian French German and Arabic
-I want to do international business
What I mean by extracurriculars, on evenings I take college level courses to strengthen my fluency

Oh and I’m taking SAT+ ACT prep rigorously

Please help.

@IVYOF2023 don’t try to explain your B’s (esp. when applying to colleges). Figure out what went wrong so that it doesn’t happen later on.

You also shouldn’t stress out too much about SAT/ACT, college applications, Ivy League, etc. You’re a freshman. Have fun. Join a club or sport you like. Practice your Mandarin or whatever languages you’re learning. Make sure you do your best in your schoolwork. As we say in Chinese, 加油!(keep at it!)

PS: I’m still a little confused about the three “companies” you mentioned previously.

I don’t want to explain the companies and what they are because of confidentiality
But I should have looked at my word choice about patent
But because of them, doesn’t it make me stand out in any way whatsoever or is it common to have entrepreneurship in th pool

@IVYOF2023 That’s fine. But if you mention this when applying to colleges (or applying for most employment), they can and usually will check for these via some sort of background check. In some cases (probably not yours), this company ownership could create a conflict of interest.

I’d say that depends on how successful your companies really are. However I have nearly no entrepreneurial experience. Grades, test scores, letters of recommendation, and other activities are usually more important.

@IVYOF2023 Tu est de quelle pays ?

Je suis américainne. Pourquoi? @Darknezzerat

@IVYOF2023 Tu ha vraiment trois compagnies?
