I am senior right now, I have completed AP Bio(5), Ap Chemistry(5), and AP computer science(4)

Honors: Development of civilization A(10th grade), Algebra 2 H(10th grade), Precalc/Calc A(11th grade) and geometry H(9th grade, if this counts or not).

Currently taking AP Physics C, AP comparative gov., Ap Stats, Ap Calc BC.

SAT I: 2050, 800 math, 700 writing, 650 CR
SAT II: Chem 800, Bio 740, Math IIC 740

ECs <----- very weak, the determining factor i think.

I have been volunteering at a convalescent hospital for about two years
I tutor Biology/chemistry/calc A been, doing it for one year
I am the webmaster of astro club for two years
I am the ICC Rep for Physics Club
Treasurer for Robotics Club
CSF three years
Leader-in-Training service(basically teach children at a day care), provided by the city

I plan to major in engineering or biochemistry, can you please evaluate my chances.

I think thats about it, any feedback would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Work on essays and extracurricular activities (a little late). It will be the determining factor in your case.

Also you need to know if you are doing engineering or biochemistry because they have different "entrance requirements" for them. One falls under College of Letters and Science and the other is Engineering (another one with different reqs is Film department).

it'll probably help to know if you're in-state or OOS

He's in-state. ;)

you have a very good chance. Your SAT score may be like 50 pts low but its not a big deal since your SAT2's are really high and your gpa is high. I'd say worry about your essays. good luck

What's with the SAT breakdown. Either it's 2150 or something is lower.

Yeah that's definitely a 2150

oh thanks emmeline ;)

maybe i should actually start reading the ECs

...nah :)

Thanks a lot guys yeah, my mistake it's 2150, I was typing this late at night, brain dead ugh. I plan to major in civil engineering(stronger major), any changes because of that?

It's not an impacted major, so I'd say you're a match. I would have been great if you had more leadership positions, and if you improved on your GPA from year to year (fresh -> soph -> junior, etc.)

But things looking fine. Don't worry about SAT; HSSEAS shouldn't take much factor into that as they didn't in the class of 2010.

Good essays and you will be fine.

Yeah I am currently writing my essays, so I can get a head start. And Thanks for you reply

You're right--your extra-currics are going to be the determining factor. UC wants to see someone make a 3 or 4 year commitment to an extra-curricular, particularly moving into a leadership position or overseeing a particular activity--toy drive for kids, glasses for the poor, etc.

Also, CSF is an honors society that relates to your grades. Every applicant will be CSF 100% if they stand a chance of getting in. Don't list it in your extra-currics.

Game plan--run for another office in the Robotics Club or create a new activity for your club--like robot demolition derby or starting a Robotics Camp for underprivileged kids. But do it now--you need to get it on your applications in November.

Collegenator:

UCLA: Slight Reach (Engineering)

ouch, how about biology?

well biology is under CL&S, so that's less competitive than HSSEAS generally.. IMO you're a match applying for biology...i know students who were admitted to that major with a less comparable profile than yours...gl!

senior men and women would have boosted your chances...
